I am sitting on a bullet train heading from Nanning to Guangzhou. As we pass farmers working in the rice paddies with their oxen, and mountains rising in the distance, I can't help but ask- who am I? Who am I that God would have chosen me- a girl from a small Alabama town, who'd never flown in an airplane until in my thirties, who likes structure and routine, and who is far from an intrepid traveler- to be sitting here beside two daughters from China? Honestly, only God could have thought of such an amazing thing. Certainly I never would have dreamed I'd be here- in this time and place- even ten years ago.
I'm so thankful I serve a God whose ways are far above my ways, with Whom nothing is impossible, and who delights in using the weak things (me!!) of this world!!!
Below are a few photos from the train.
