God's Plan For Us

This is our journey - God's incredible plan for our lives. When we followed the moving of the Holy Spirit, He opened the windows of Heaven and poured out upon us blessings we never dreamed of! Indescribable joy!

" For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Introducing Ximi and NiNi!!!!!!!

Today we have the great joy to introduce each of you to our new daughters – NiNi and Ximi. We just received our Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from China telling us we have the honor of becoming the parents of these two precious girls! NiNi is 5 years old and from the same province as LiLi (Heilongjiang), and Ximi, 4, is from Jiangxi province (province below Elli’s). Both girls have been waiting a long time for their Baba and Mama, and it looks as though we’ll be wrapping our arms around them near the end of May. They each have a special need that very well could require surgery shortly after getting home. NiNi has hydrocephalus (untreated, so perhaps a shunt?) and Ximi has some sort of eye disease that appears as though she may be missing part of her iris, and also has corneal scarring. Ximi’s vision is slowly deteriorating and, as of the last update, she can see objects up close only. We are praying she will be able to have surgery to correct, or at least halt, the vision loss. We’d appreciate your prayers for that as well. The girls are so excited, and Elli and LiLi have already decided that Elli will take care of Ximi (Elli is planning on being a doctor so she’ll “be able to help Ximi because she doesn’t see very well”) and LiLi will take care of NiNi (they are from the same province, after all!). They have been making great plans for their new sisters. Xiaoyun will be going with us to China as our ‘interpreter’ – our concern is that Ximi’s eyesight will be completely gone before we get there, and it will be a comfort for her if she has a sister who sounds like her and can talk to her. It will be so nice for both the girls – and me and Virgil- that we will be able to communicate through Xiaoyun.

To say we are excited and anxious to get them home, is an understatement. We are also so very thankful to God to be allowed the privilege of adding these two precious children into our family. Soon, two little sets of hands will have family to hold them, many laps to sit on, arms to snuggle into, cheeks that will not lack for kisses, and the love of a large family and many friends that will always be there for them. Soon, we will hear the laughter of our new children mingled with that of our other children. We’ll have two more sweethearts to tuck into bed at night, prayers to pray, girls to watch bloom into beautiful young women. Oh, what joy!!!!!!
