This will be my last posting of news solely about Elli. The blog will now contain, not only news about Elli, but also about Evelyn Xiaoyun and Enya Li - our new daughters waiting in China to be brought home to their forever family.
How do I describe the joy Elli has been to all who know her? She has brought so much delight, laughter, playfulness, and enthusiasm into a home that had grown too quiet. Emily is busy so often away from home that it was just us old folks sitting around. Now, sitting sounds like a pleasant pastime that OLDER people do, but not us any longer! On any given day, you may hear screaming as we play a game of hide and seek, or chasing around the house (I'm not all that slow when chased! ), I Love You's!! yelled at the top of someone's lungs or even reading Dr. Seuss for the thousandth time. If you were a fly on the wall you'd hear Elli scream and run for door when Baba (Virgil) or Emily comes home from work, a child who loves to color and do crafty things, who is free with her kisses and hugs, and more inquisitive than any child I've ever seen. Her favorite saying right now is " Because God made it that way". Nothing is sweeter than hearing her pray for her two sisters still in China. She's been home now less than 10 months and she's already learned to read simple words.
We know Elli's adjustment has the been the answer of a multitude of prayers and we are so very thankful for our friends and family for their prayers. However, all the glory goes to God for the work He has done in our lives. We are blessed indeed!
