God's Plan For Us

This is our journey - God's incredible plan for our lives. When we followed the moving of the Holy Spirit, He opened the windows of Heaven and poured out upon us blessings we never dreamed of! Indescribable joy!

" For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

May 2nd

We're here in Hefei!!!!!!! We weren't able to post last night because the internet had to be paid for last night. Yesterday, May 1, We had another full day of sightseeing. We visited the Forbidden City where the Emperor and his family lived when not at the Summer Palace. It is hard to believe just how large these places are. It is in the center of Beijing and was like a city within the city. We also went to the site of the 2008 Olympics, took pics (Em was very popular with the teens here - they kept asking to have their picture made with her), and then on to an acrobatic show. Packing was a nightmare because we had to be careful not to have any more than 44 lbs in checked baggage. A lot of shuffling and repacking and then holding our breath once we got to the airport to have them weighed. We left early this morning - 6:50. There was a Car Show in Beijing, and it was over this morning so they wanted us to leave early to make sure we arrived at the airport on time. That car show made a city of 22 million even more crowded and all the tourist attractions much busier. There was also their Labor Day going on this weekend. We said our goodbyes to the other two families who are headed to other provinces and we'll link up with them again in Guangzhou. Our flight was about 1 1/2 hours long and they served a full meal almost as soon as we took off. Hefei is much smaller than Beijing (still, at 6 million, larger than any I've been to) and significantly less affluent than what we have seen thus far. There is a lot of construction going on. The Holiday Inn where we're staying is new - built in 2008, and right downtown. Best of all (for Em) is the fact that there is free internet!!!!!!!! Our local guide's name is Snow and she seems very sweet. She will take us to see some sites tomorrow morning and to do some paperwork for the adoption. Today we walked to a local market, got some ramen noodles and waters and are staying in the room the rest of the day to relax and regroup. I unpacked Elli's clothes and toys and can hardly believe she'll be using them soon. (I'm still on my emotional coaster ride.) Looking forward to Tuesday!!!!!!!
